Pedi-Heart's KBO League Ecosystem Destroyer Appears... 6.5 Billion Catcher's Admiration "153km sinker, ever-changing"

Yoni Chirinos, a foreign pitcher of the LG Twins in professional baseball, is showing signs of becoming a destruction of the KBO league ecosystem. It shows the power of a pitcher with 20 wins in the Major League.

Chirinos took the mound as a starting pitcher in a game against Doosan held at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on the 12th, and won his third win of the season (no loss) by allowing three hits, one walk, and eight strikeouts in six innings (100 pitches).  메이저놀이터

Chirinos struck out in every inning until the third inning, and allowed nine consecutive hitters. With two outs in the fourth inning, Yang Eui-ji was allowed to have an infield hit to the shortstop. The infield hit was hit by shortstop Oh Ji-hwan's glove and rolled into the outfield. Choo grounded out to shortstop to end the inning. He struck out Yang Seok-hwan and Kang Seung-ho in the fifth inning, and ended the three-out move.

The only crisis was in the sixth inning. He struck out Park Gye-beom and allowed Park Joon-young to hit an infield single to the base. Jung Soo-bin's ground ball to the first base was successful by double play, with runners on second and first base, but Doosan applied for a video replay and turned it over to safety at the first base.

He allowed Cave to have a hit in the middle. With runners on the first and second bases with two outs, Yang Eui-ji's slider came out at one ball and two strikes, making him a ball. He then walked, putting the bases loaded with two outs. He struck out Choo Jae-hyun with a swing and miss, and ended the game scoreless.

The maximum speed of two-seam fastballs was 153 kilometers. He threw 49 pitch-seam balls, 28 fork balls, 22 sweeper and one fastball. Chirinos, who took the mound as the starting pitcher for the season's opener, has posted three wins, no loss, 1.80 ERA and 28 strikeouts in four games (25 innings) including the game against Doosan Bears. He has displayed outstanding pitching performance by allowing two runs or fewer in six innings in all four games.

There is a possibility that he will succeed Eric Peddy (St. Louis Cardinals) and Kyle Hart (San Diego Padres), who returned to the Major League after coming to the KBO League and becoming the league's best pitcher.

It rained even before the start of the game, so it was delayed by an hour. There is a routine of a starting pitcher, but it would not have been easy to control his condition while waiting for an hour. In addition, it was a difficult environment in many ways as it began to rain again from the middle of the game.

Nevertheless, Chirinos showed outstanding performance. "The weather was bad, but today's game was already decided," Chirinos said. "No matter the situation, I always try to do my best in the role I'm given and play every time I take the mound. I wanted to show what I'm best at today," he said, regardless of the weather environment.

He has started quality games for four consecutive games, and moreover, he has allowed fewer than two runs in all of them. "On my first day as a team, I set my goal with the mindset that I will throw at least five innings and go up," Chirinos said. "When I go through a good preparation process after having a good result, I think good results always follow. Today's result ends with today's game, and I will continue to focus on each game and prepare well."

He threw 11 pitches in the first inning against leadoff pitcher Jeong Su-bin. The result was a grounder to shortstop, and the game started with a tough showdown. "It's not easy to face a batter who makes a lot of contact with others," Chirinos said of the style of KBO league hitters who are good at cutting. "Those hitters are tricky batters because they never give up at bat. I tried my best to get out as fast as possible by aggressive pitching."

He threw a slider against Yang in the sixth inning, with runners on the first and second bases with two outs, and ran to the dugout with confidence in his strikeout call, before stopping when the ball was declared. He then walked to load the bases with two outs and loaded the bases. He roared with Choo by swinging and striking out with 150 kilometers of determination.

With the bases loaded with two outs, Chirinos said, "I wasn't nervous at all. I tried to focus more because it was raining a lot. My control got out of my hands little by little due to the rain, but I focused more and overcame the crisis."

The maximum distance of 150 kilometers (player himself says he is a sinker) is powerful. "Change is good. If the ball is faster than you think, it's hard to see many changes, but the ball is fast and there are many changes," catcher Park Dong-won said of Chirinos' fighting spirit. He means the ball moves well. It's hard for hitters to make a hit.

Chirinos said, "Sinker pitches are pitches that he has thrown since his debut in the big leagues, and he is a very confident pitch. It is a pitches that he uses most often to target batters. Since it is a pitches that are effective for batters, it gives them confidence and helps them throw many innings."

He has good sinker movement, and he also likes fork balls and sweeper as breaking balls. Fork balls were powerful when striking out. "The more confident type of pitch is the splitter. Batters will analyze and come out because I pitched in several games in the KBO. I try to mix various balls as much as possible," Chirinos said.
